GENERAL RULES OF CONDUCT AND DISCIPLINE
Whenever individuals live together, discipline is necessary and this is especially true of an educational institution. This discipline is formative, not repressive. It leads the student to develop a successful life.
- Every student should carry daily with his/her school diary.
- The warning bell before class is a signal for all to go their respective class rooms. This should be done in silence.
- All pupils are expected to be present for assembly.
- The attendance is taken at the beginning of the session.
- No child is permitted to leave the school premises without the permission granted by the Principal, only at the specific written request of the parents.
- Students are expected to show respect to the members of the staff. They should stand and greet them when they enter a class as well as, when they leave the classroom.
- Students are expected to show gentleness and courtesy to their companions. Refinement should distinguish every pupil of this school.
- All should be habitually clean and neatly dressed. A student who is slovenly dressed may not be permitted into the class room or may even be sent home.
- During recess pupils are expected to leave the classroom.
- The Principal has the right to confiscate from the pupils books, newspaper, periodicals and other items which may be considered objectionable.
- All students must speak English in the School.
- Money should not be lent or borrowed nor should articles be exchanged among the students.
- No collection for any purpose whatsoever is to be started and no meeting, demonstration, party or picnic be held without the prior permission of the Principal.
- Presents to the members of the staff or any gathering in their honor also requires the prior permission of the Principal.
- Any pupil desiring to be exempted from assembly or games must produce a doctor’s certificate to the effect that he/she is physically unfit to take part in them.
- Pupils are not permitted to attend parties, see cinema or go to friend’s house on their way back home from school.
- Students will not be called to answer phone calls during class hours.
- Proper care should be taken of the School property and no pupil should scratch or spoil desks or chairs or damage any school furniture, write or draw anything on the walls or in any way damage things belonging to others. Damage done even accidently should be reported at once to the class teacher or to the Principal. Any damage done will be made good by the one who has done it. Anyone who sees something damaged should report the matter even if he/she does not know who has done it. No pupil should bring razor, blades or any sharp instrument to school.
- All letters and correspondence addressed to pupils are subject to the scrutiny of the Principal.
- The school is not responsible for articles or money lost. It is not advisable to bring valuable things like expensive watch, fountain pens, etc. to school. Pupils below class V should not wear wrist watches in the school.
- Running, playing, shouting, hooting and whistling inside the school building is not permitted.
- Parents/Guardians are not permitted to walk into classrooms or interview teachers during the class hours.
- School Note Books + Tests Books School Note Books must use for all written works, and class tests. It must be covered with only school’s brown covers.
EXAMINATION RULES
- Regular Weekly tests will be held in addition to terminal exams in May, October and February. Promotions will depend on these tests and examinations.
- Pupils absent from an examination, oral or written for any reasons will not be re-examined and will be considered as having failed. In case of illness, doctor’s certificate should have to be produced.
- No candidate will be admitted to any of the examinations unless all school dues have been paid in full.
- Willful break of any of the regulations for the conduct of examination is punishable with expulsion from the examination or if subsequently discovered with cancelling of the paper.
- The Pupils are strictly forbidden to borrow implements from their neighbours in the examination hall.
- Copying, consulting and carrying answer slips to the examination will be liable for punishment such as detention in the same class or cancellation of the entire exams.
- Applications for the verifications of marks may be considered in special cases at the discretion of the Principal.
- The year’s work will be taken into account for various activities and physical education. No separate examination will be held in these subjects at the end of each term. Grades will be awarded for these subjects.
Eligibility
Promotion to a higher class depends upon:-
- Results declared at the end of the year are final in all cases and will not be reconsidered.
- A pupil failing twice in the same class will have to discontinue his/her studies at the school.
- The class tests result is sent to parents after each test. Parents are requested to sign it and return it within a couple of days.
LEAVE RULES
- No leave of absence is granted except on previous written application from parents or guardians and that too for valid reasons.
- In case of absence without leave, the student on returning to School must produce the leave application duly signed by the Parent/guardian. A student returning to School after a contagious or infectious disease should also produce a doctor’s certificate permitting him/her to do so. On failure to produce such a certificate the school authority is entitled to send back the student.
- All are expected to attend school on the re-opening day after each vacation. Children of classes 1st to 10th who return late without prior leave application will be fined RS. 10/- per day of absence. That absence due to illness should present a medical certificate before they are admitted to class. Absence for more than 15 days will cause to strike off the pupil’s name from the register. Readmission, if granted may cause to remit a readmission fee.
- Parents are requested not to encourage their children to come away from school before the school gets over except in case of real necessity, in which case permission should be obtained previously in writing.
- It may please be noted that children will not be sent home in an emergency with anyone who might come for them during school hours without a written request from the parents or guardian.
RECOMMENDATION TO PARENTS/ GUARDIANS
- In order to secure all that is best in the education of your son or daughter, your co-operation is required. You should go through this diary and ensure that the child does the assignment / homework assigned for the next day. The children should be encouraged to cultivate neatness habitually and all slovenliness should be firmly disapproved of remarks made in the diary should be seen and countersigned regularly.
- When you feel that your children do not make the desired progress, the Principal should be contacted. Private tuitions are strongly discouraged. If there is real need of a private tuition, arrange for one, after getting the permission from the Principal. The class teacher will not be allowed to teach his or her students.
- Parents, guardians or visitors should not visit the class rooms during class hours.
- Criticism of a teacher of his/her school in his/her presence should be strictly avoided, because it causes the boy or girl to lose his/her respect for the teachers with the consequent failure to learn from him/her. If you have an illegitimate complaint, see the Principal.
- As your boy/girl advances in age, guide him/her to become a resourceful and useful member of home and country. Encourage self-help to work and study. He/she should be taught to keep his/her room tidy, make his/her own bed, polish his/her shoes arrange V bag. Etc. the formation of such habits early in life inculcates in him/her the idea of dignity of work a fundamental personal virtue necessary for a successful carrier in life.
- A student who is ill should not be sent to school to attend class or take the tests. The chances are that he/she will do badly and consequently spoil the record of his/her term’s work.
- Withdrawal of your son/daughter from classes for mere social functions is not recommended because it treats the boy’s/girl’s is not recommended because it treats the boy’s/girl’s progress in school and minimizes his/her respect for regular hard work with consequent failure to progress in his/her studies.
- As the medium of instruction of this school is English, boys and girls should be helped to follow their classes easily and intelligently by a certain amount of regular conversation in English at home.
PARTICULAR HELPS TO STUDENTS
- Never omit the lesson or home-work assigned; if you do, it is like missing a train that can never catch afterwards.
- Always revise the work doing in class and make sure that you have understood everything clearly and thoroughly.
- If memory work is assigned, learn it overnight and repeat in the morning.
- Always jot down in your diary the work that is assigned for the next day.
- All home work should be done neatly and the day’s work always dated. Each new home-work should be done on a fresh page. 6. As you grow up, make a daily time-table for yourself for your study (the different subjects in order of difficulty, the most difficult one being first), rest, recreation etc. in this way you will learn to be a person of regular habits, a most valuable asset in later life.
- Revise at the end of the week all that were learnt during the week.
