Christ Jyoti Convent School, founded in Sultanpur Lodhi, at Dist. Kapurthala ,Punjab, on 10th February, 1998 by Rev. Sr. Terecine CSN, the then Provincial Superior of Christ Jyothi Province, Allahabad. It was nurtured by the great leadership of Late Sr. Maggie CSN with the students and dedicated teachers and is flourished under the management of Principal, Sr.Agnette CSN, with her team members, worthy teachers and students.

The need to start an educational institution of Christ Jyothi Province in Punjab had arisen in the mind of the Provincial Team of 1996 to 1999 and the responsibility was entrusted to Sr.Maggie CSN, who was then the Principal of St. Mary’s Convent School, Faridkot and one of the Provincial Team Members . So she approached Rt.Rev.Dr. Symphorian Keeparath the then Bishop of Jalandhar and discussed about the need. Rev. Bishop wholeheartedly accepted her new emerge and entrusted Rev Fr.Mathew Kokkandom to find out an appropriate land for the CSN sisters. Rev. Father found out a land in Sultanpur Lodhi. Rev.Mother Terecine CSN, Sr.Alacoque CSN and Sr.Maggie CSN came to Sultanpur Lodhi with Rev.Fr.Mathew Kokkandam to see the plot and they arranged everything to purchase this land on 26/03/1997. Mr.Harpreet Singh and his family was one of the benefactors, who helped a lot to the sisters in the initial stages.

The construction of the school building started on 28/01/1998, under the constant observation of Rev. Srs. Majella and Sobita, who were staying in Kapurthala with D.M Sisters. The Sisters shifted their residence to a rented house in Sultanpur Lodhi on 10/02/1998, in order to give proper guidance and leadership for the construction work. Sr.Philomina CSN too joined with them when they shifted to a rented house. The Nursery and LKG classes started in the rented house from 03/03/1998 with 75 students and 04 teachers.

The foundation stone of the school building was laid by Rev.Fr.Mathew Nampudakam on 01/05/1998. Sr. Jasmine CSN joined this community as the Principal of the school on 15/05/1998. The work of a few class rooms were completed first and were blessed by Rev.Fr.Mathew Nampudakam on 17/09/1998 and sisters stated to stay there.  The blessing and inauguration of Christ Jyoti Convent School was on 28/10/1998 by Rt.Rev.Dr.Symphorian Keeparath, the then Bishop of Jalandhar. The first Annual Day of the school was conducted on the same day and Rt.Rev. Dr.Symphorian Keeparath was the Chief Guest of that function.

The coming of the new Principal, Sr.Maggie CSN, on 07/07/1999, put the school on the top of academic results and extracurricular activities in Sultanpur Lodhi. The school building was further extended with the class 7th and 8th and then to 9th and 10th along with the lab facilities of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer. In the year 2006 (12/10/2006) the school received No Objection Certificate from the Punjab Government Education Department. . Presently, the school is affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi. It received the Certificate of Provisional Affiliation in the year 2010.

The present Principal, Sr.Agnette CSN took over the responsibility in the Year 2010, (06/06/2010), when Sr.Maggie was seriously ill. She tries to continue its excellence in all the fields. The school received its Permanent Affiliation with ISC level in the Year 2011 (13/05/2011) from the Council, New Delhi. It received the Minority Status Certificate on 11/08/2011 from the National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions. The new block for the KG section was blessed and inaugurated on 08/11/ 2012 by Rt. Rev. Dr. Anil Joseph Thomas Cutto, the then Bishop of Jalandhar. The proper functioning of the Library started during this time. English Language Lab with English Café was added during the year 2012. The ‘Smart Class’, electronic teaching methods in all the class rooms are adapted in the year 2013. The school has its own Online System in all the areas.
